California, Orange County Crisis: Your Help Needed!California, Orange County Crisis: Your Help Needed!
As many of those who participate in the USCCA Forum already know, the recently appointed sheriff of Orange County, California (Sandra Hutchens, formerly of the LA County Sheriff's Department) has begun revoking CCW on a large scale, and without cause. On November 18, the Orange County Board of Supervisors will be addressing the newly appointed Sheriff to discuss the controversy surrounding her new highly-restrictive CCW Policy.

Anyone with an interest in preserving their CCW rights and privileges is highly encouraged to attend the meeting and make their presence felt! The Board must . . . keep reading

If You Bought a Gun This Week ...If You Bought a Gun This Week ...
If you bought a gun this week, you're not alone. While exact figures aren't yet available, gun stores across the nation reported record-breaking sales in the days following the national election.

"Sales have been… well… brisk. Maybe a better word would be insane. We've sold out of everything three times over, and we're bringing in more guns as fast as we can find them and call in favors. If you're waiting for something, let's put this in perspective. I talked to Stag the day before the election and they had received orders for 6,000 rifles in the last few days. They were out 4 weeks [backordered], and that was before" the election, reports Larry Correia of FBMG, Inc., a gun store near Salt Lake City, Utah. When I talked to him Saturday night, he added that sales had only gone up since the blog entry that quote came from was written, and that Saturday had been their biggest sales day in the history of the store.

FBMG was not alone in that. According to an AP report, on Election Day, Franklin Gun Shop (near Nashville, Tennessee) experienced . . . keep reading

Course Review: John Farnam's Fighting with a Handgun Class

I recently had a chance to take a class from John Farnam called Fighting with a Handgun in Columbia, SC. Overall the class was excellent, and I'd highly recommend John as an instructor. The class began on Friday evening at the hotel John was staying at (handily just across the freeway from my apartment). Everybody introduced themselves. The class was quite small, just four students, plus two of John's local instructors, Bill and Richard. With three instructors for four students, everyone was guaranteed a lot of individual attention. . . . keep reading

Colt Diamondback: An Oldie but GoodieColt Diamondback: An Oldie but Goodie
In 1989, when we were living in London, my wife Vannessa decided that she wanted a revolver. This was an unusual decision for her, as most of her shooting up until then had been done with semi-auto pistols, and her armory at that time consisted of a Colt Gold Cup, used for target shooting, and a compensated Colt Commander, which she used in IPSC matches, both in .45 caliber. So, we went along to one of London's better-known gun stores, the New London Armoury, owned by the eccentric Tom Collins. He was a real character, whose badly-fitting toupee was always a good indicator of what kind of a mood he was in. If the parting was aligned on a North-South axis, you knew he was in a good mood, but if it was awry -- watch out! Luckily, he knew us both, and Vannessa had bought her Gold Cup from him, so he was smiling as she told him what she was looking for. . . . keep reading

 TESTIMONIALS
Here's what our members are saying ...
"Your website and magazine have many helpful articles and most importantly, an opportunity to hear from like-minded people who take self protection seriously. For many of us that carry it has been both an "evolution" from thinking about carrying to a full-time commit-ment and a "revelation" that we can enjoy freedom to protect our loved ones from attack.
Norbert Quenzer

U.S. Concealed Carry addresses absolutely every self-defense issue of concern to intelligent Americans today, provides vital information regarding products, services and organizations relevant to concealed carry and communicates critical self-defense information.

I am writing to express my complete satisfaction with U.S. Concealed Carry. I find your no-nonsense, real world focus, to be a refreshing change from other gun publications. I found the CCM Profiles to be especially good. It was good to see other concerned citizens speaking out on CCW matters. It makes the rest of us feel less like “gun nuts” and more like a community of concerned and squared away citizens.

Just a quick note to let you know that I really appreciate what you are doing and the courage it has taken for you to be “just a regular guy” who cares enough to do something worth doing! You are to be congratulated for your commitment and your convictions. Both have motivated me to do all I can to “spread the word” and to “protect our rights.”
