Armed Miami, FL Home Owner Shoots Naked Burglar in Self Defense

As reported, a Miami, Florida homeowner used his gun to stop a naked burglar who was choking his dog:

Police say that at about 5:00am, a homeowner on the 100 block of NW 56 Street awoke to the sound of his dog barking outside.  The homeowner went to investigate and found a naked man choking his dog, according to police.  The naked intruder is said to have become violent toward the homeowner when he tried to intervene, at which point the homeowner used his self defense gun to shoot the intruder, according news reports. Police reportedly arrived, at which point the naked man is said to have attacked them, before being transported to a nearby hospital for a gunshot wound.  Charges for the naked man are said to include Burglary with an Assault, Resisting Arrest, Lewd and Lascivious Behavior, and Animal Cruelty.

By the time the police respond to a 911 call, the crime in question may very well have been completed. Even the best circumstances, the police are minutes away, while a murder, robbery, home invasion, or other violent crime can take place in just seconds. Luckily, this homeowner had a gun for self defense, and as a result was able to save himself from a most unpleasant situation.
