Below is a notice from the ISRA, discussing their 7th Annual Range Open House, which is on June 27, 2009. All law abiding citizens are invited, including those who do not own a firearm and wish to shoot for the first time under the supervision of qualified instructors:
Everyone is welcome at the 7th Annual ISRA Range Open House!
Just west of Kankakee on Saturday, June 27st – 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM
FREE PARKING! FREE ADMISSION! RAIN or SHINE!
All law-abiding citizens are invited, even those who do not own a firearm nor have ever fired one before.
Factory representatives from major manufacturers will be on hand to answer your questions about your favorite firearms. Under the supervision of qualified instructors, you will have the opportunity to test the firearms of your choice and try your hand at archery, too. A small fee for ammunition will be required.
A BB gun and an air rifle range will be set up for our younger guests – a great opportunity to get the whole family involved.
Food and soft drink vendors will be on site to make sure you don’t go hungry or thirsty. We will also have information available on a wide variety of ISRA and NRA programs.
Back by Popular Demand: Military encampments will be on display and there will be re-enactors representing WWII, Vietnam and the French and Indian War. A variety of military vehicles and an MP guard booth will be on exhibit as well.
For additional information, you can download or print this flyer. For directions to the range, click here. If you have questions, call the ISRA office at 815-635-3198.
Opportunities for Volunteers are still available!
Open to all ISRA Members!
Help introduce someone to the shooting sports, or help with setup/teardown, sales, registration or more. There’s a variety of opportunities still open for volunteers, especially instructors. Work Day Credits apply for ISRA Range Members who volunteer for this event. Please download this form or call the ISRA office at 815-635-3198 for more info.
The fine print: Persons prohibited from possessing firearms will not be admitted. Persons under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult, but are otherwise certainly welcome. Eye and ear protection will be provided and is mandatory at all shooting areas. No personal firearms or ammunition will be allowed at the range during the ISRA Open House
