As reported, a Houston, TX son used his father’s gun to stop three home invaders who were attacking his parents.
Police say that the 21 year old man was at his parent’s home on the 3900 block of Brook Garden in Houston, Texas, helping them to bake a cake, when there was a knock on the door. The father is said to have gone to the door and opened it, at which point three intruders knocked him to the ground and forced their way inside the home. With the father knocked to the ground, the intruders are said to have gone after the mother, at which point the the son ran for his father’s gun, according to news reports. Acting in defense of his parents, the son is said to have fatally shot one of the intruders, causing the others to flee. Police later arrested two suspects.
Home invasion robberies are a deadly threat to the occupants of a home. The criminals who commit such crimes often murder, shoot, stab, rape, torture, kidnap, and permanently injure and disfigure their victims. The result is that the lives of law abiding, innocent people can be ended or ruined in an instant, all because of a criminals actions. The good news is that armed citizens such as this son can, and do, stop such criminals every day. Society as a whole benefits as well, as a criminal who is stopped by an armed citizen today will be unable to victimize another person tomorrow.
