As reported, a resident of East Dallas, Texas used his gun to stop an armed home invader.
Police say that at 10:15am, a burglar who was armed with a shotgun was breaking in to the home located near Freeport Dr. and Gross Rd. The home’s occuptant is said to have fired in self defense, fatally wounding the intruder and ending the burglary. No injuries to the resident were reported.
One of the many benefits of armed self defense is the virtual elimination of wrongful prosecutions of innocent people. When an armed citizen fatally shoots an intruder, there is no mistake as to the identify of the intruder and no risk that an innocent person will be incorrectly charged for that intruder’s crime.
