As reported, a homeowner used his gun to defend himself and his wife from two armed and masked intruders who attempted to break into their rural residence:
Police say that the husband and wife were at their rural home, near Sedro-Wooley, WA, when the wife saw two masked men, who were carrying guns, attempting to invade their home. She reportedly screamed for her husband, who grabbed his gun and fired in self defense, sending the men fleeing. Police arrived and located a gun that is believed to have been carried by one of the invaders, according to news reports. Two men, each suffering from a gunshot wound, were later found at local hospitals, and police are investigating whether these men are connected with this home invasion attempt, police say.
Home invasions are a serious threat to the safety of everyone in the home, since criminals often murder, rape, kidnap, and otherwise harm their innocent victims. Had this man not had a gun for self defense, it is almost certain that the police would not have been able to respond quickly enough to save him and his wife from the two masked and armed intruders. Luckily, this man was armed, and as a result he was able to defend himself and his wife.
