As reported, a homeowner used his handgun to stop a pair of late-night intruders:
Police say that at about 1:30AM, four men arrived outside a home on the 500 block of Creath Place in San Antonio, TX, demanding to see someone who they thought was staying at the home. One of the four men is said to have threatened those present, stating that he had just gotten out of prison and wouldn’t mind going back. At this point, two of the men – one of whom was armed with a knife – broke into the home, prompting the homeowner to fire his handgun in self defense, according to news reports. One injured suspect fled and was apprehended by police a short distance away, while the other suspect was found deceased in the living room, alongside his knife, according to police. No injuries to the homeowner or the children present in the home were reported.
Here we have yet another example of an armed, law abiding citizen using a gun for self defense. As the statistics show, armed citizens – such as this homeowner – can and do defend themselves and their children against violent criminals. Simply put, armed self defense works.
