A burglar who broke into a home on the Southeast side of Indianapolis, Indiana was fatally shot by his would-be victim.
News reports say that at about 6:30pm on Thursday night, police responded to a home on the 6400 block of Winslow Drive. Apparently the homeowner had been the victim of a burglary recently, and was prepared this time to defend his home, police say. As multiple intruders attempted to enter, one of them was fatally shot and the other two fled. No injuries to the homeowner were reported, according to news reports.
Home invading criminals are a deadly and terrible threat for every man, woman, and child in the residence. Victims of home invasion all too often suffer torture, rape, kidnapping, and murder at the hands of criminals who care more about a few dollars than human life.
The good news is that gun owners like this man can, and do, stop such criminals every day. Gun ownership saved this homeowner, and ensured that the suspect will never again invade another family’s home.
