An elderly woman in Commerce, GA used her handguns to stop a home invading criminal.
News reports say that shortly after Noon, the homeowner head a person attempting to break into her Jackson County home. The elderly lady, fearing for her safety and that of another woman in the home, is said to have grabbed her .32 and .357 magnum handguns before verbally warning the would-be intruder to leave. When the invader ignored her warning and forced his way inside through a window and then advanced on her, she fired the .32 handgun and then the .357, sending the intruder running back to an interior room, according to news reports. Police reportedly arrived and took a suspect into custody. No injury to the women in the home were reported.
When senior citizens are armed for self defense, they are in the best position possible to avoid harm at the hands of a criminal. I could go on with more examples, but the point should be clear: armed self defense is a senior citizen’s best chance at stopping a younger and stronger criminal who attacks them.
