Maxon, one of the Chicago-area ranges which I frequent, is hosting a free introduction to shooting and firearms safety. The seminar is on Saturday, February 28th, 2009 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
This class is designed for first-time shooters and includes both classroom and range time. First Shots is an introductory program that provides the public with opportunities to give shooting a try. Developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) and hosted by independent shooting facilities, First Shots provides participants with a comprehensive introduction to shooting by qualified range operators and instructors that includes firearm safety, local ownership requirements, shooting fundamentals, hands-on instruction and how and where to continue.
