As reported, the clerk of a North Tampa, Florida gas station used his gun to stop a robber who was armed with a knife.
Police say that a robber who was armed with a knife entered the Hope Food Store and attempted to commit a robbery. The clerk is said to have repeatedly warned the robber to stop before shooting the robber, ending the attack. A suspect was reportedly taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. No injuries to the clerk or the 3 bystanders were reported.
Despite the dire predictions of anti-gun individuals, armed citizens use their guns in self defense every day and rarely is a bystander harmed. Just as this clerk used a gun in self defense to save himself and everyone present from a violent robber while harming no bystanders, a great many other people do the same thing with the same level of success. Armed self defense works, and is a net safety improvement over trying to cooperate with robbers or attempting to flee from robbers, as it defies logic to expect a violent criminal to display mercy while they go about committing their crimes.
