As reported, a father in Jefferson County, Alabama used his gun to save his young son from 3 home invaders.
Police say that the 8-year-old boy had just come home from school and was by himself when he called his father to report that people were knocking on the house’s doors. The boy is said to have hidden under a bed as his father, who was just a few minutes away, came to the house. The father reportedly entered to find 3 home invaders had broken in to the home, and fired in self defense. One home invader is said to have died from his wounds, and police are searching for the other two suspects. No injuries to the father or child were reported.
Home invaders are a deadly threat to children, as many people who have no qualms about committing a felony such as burglary also have no qualms about doing terrible things to children. Fortunately, this father was armed for self defense and was able to protect his son from 3 home invaders. Similarly, this armed woman was able to save her child from an intruder, just as this armed man was able to do. Parents who have a gun for self defense are in the best position possible to protect their children from the sort of violence that no child should suffer.
