It is no secret that the 2008 elections results are a blow to gun rights. However not all is lost, so long as gun owners continue to support gun rights at the local, state, and national level:
Join the NRA. Joining the National Rifle Association is an easy way to help support gun rights in the USA.
Join the ISRA. Joining the Illinois State Rifle Association is an easy way to help support gun rights in Illinois. Other states will have their own rifle associations that can be joined.
Sign gun rights petitions. There are petitions available to support concealed carry, and to end wrongful Firearms Owner Identification card issuance delays.
Donate to the ISRA Legislative Fund. Your donation will help protect our gun rights by working within the political process. The anti-gun groups have their lobbyists hard at work, and gun owners need a voice in the legislature too.

Contact Your Federal, State, and Local officials. Telling your elected officials how you feel about gun rights is vital. You can even lookup and contact all your elected officials at once using this simple form.
Join the United States Concealed Carry Association – Become the most skilled, educated, and proficient lawfully armed citizen that you can be.
Stand up for your rights. The government will try to take our guns away little at a time to keep from having a big uprising. But the ultimate goal in my opion is to unarm the country. Assault weapons ban is going to be first and probably will have some more guns added to it. Please write you reps. and let them know how you feel.
