As reported, a lawful gun owner in Jamaica used his gun in self defense against an armed robber.
Police say that a robber, who was wearing a ski mask and carrying a pistol, attempted to rob a man of a necklace. The would-be victim is said to have fired his gun in self defense, striking the robber and ending the attack. The robber reportedly died from his injuries, and no injuries to the armed citizen were reported.
Armed robbers pose a deadly threat to their victims. Robbers have been known to shoot cooperating victims due to the victim not having enough valuable property to steal, or just for the heck of it. The idea of running away isn’t viable either, as no person can outrun a bullet. Instead, as this case and many others show, self defense is a crime victim’s best course of action. Rather than being at the (non-existent) mercy of a violent criminal, those who act in self defense are able to save themselves and their loved ones from harm.
